Forsyth Appraisals, originally Forsyth and Forsyth Appraisals was founded in California in 1970. Earl Forsyth, MAI was the founding father, previously a vice president for New York Life Insurance Company in charge of Real Estate Investments for the Western Region including Alaska and Hawaii. He was originally designated as a distinguished Member of the Appraisal Institute in 1957. Irma Forsyth was the other original founder of the company and was a designated Residential Member of the Appraisal Institute in 1972. Forsyth and Forsyth relocated to Northern California in 1973 and has been operating continuously since those early days.

 

As the organization grew rapidly, Glenn Forsyth, a graduate of UC Davis, with multiple majors and minors in many associated subjects, began working full time with the company in 1984, after many years managing and participating as a partner in real estate branches of Century 21, mostly in the Texas area. Glenn rapidly assumed the reigns of the growing organization and is the sole proprietor today. The name of the organization was changed to Forsyth Appraisals in 1999.
